Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States Meet in Azerbaijan
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, attended the Council of Foreign Ministers meeting of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Azerbaijan. This meeting took place ahead of the informal OTS Summit.
During the event, participants discussed ways to improve the Organization’s activities and addressed current international issues. They emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in areas such as transport, logistics, communications, and climate change.
Minister Nurtleu highlighted Kazakhstan’s progress during its chairmanship of the UTC for 2023-2024, under the motto “TURKTIME!” He shared Kazakhstan’s vision for the future development of the Organization and its growing influence on the world stage.
At the meeting, a decision was made to appoint the Executive Director of the UTG Representative Office in Hungary. Several documents were also approved for signing at the upcoming Council of Heads of State of the UTG.
The Organization of Turkic States was established in 2009 in Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan, at Kazakhstan’s initiative. Its Secretariat is based in Istanbul, Türkiye. The Organization includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, with Hungary and Turkmenistan as observer states.
