First Snow of the Season Falls on Türkiye’s Black Sea Coast

The mountainous regions of Rize, Artvin, Giresun, Ordu, and Trabzon in northeastern Türkiye have seen their first snowfall of the season.

The heavy snow has caused difficulties in transportation and daily life for local residents, but road services swiftly responded to the situation.

According to Turkish press , specialized equipment is being actively used to clear roads and restore traffic. Crews are working around the clock, focusing on key routes that connect towns and provide access to hospitals, schools, and critical infrastructure.

Local authorities have assured that the situation is under control, despite the likelihood of continued snowfall. Residents have been advised to avoid traveling to the mountain areas unless absolutely necessary.

Preventive measures are being taken by officials to ensure road safety and reduce the risk of accidents, aiming to mitigate the impact of the winter weather on the region.
