President of Finland Sauli Niinisto signed the law on the accession of his country to NATO, on Thursday. The document was approved by the parliament on March 1, reports Turanews.kz citing Euronews.
All countries of the Alliance, except Türkiye and Hungary, agreed to the membership of Finland and Sweden.
In Ankara, the parliament’s international affairs committee approved Helsinki’s request on Thursday, which will now be considered by lawmakers.
Budapest is also considering Finland’s candidacy early next week. So far, Hungary has also expressed a positive opinion regarding the country’s accession to the organization.
