Extreme Heat and Storms Expected Across Kazakhstan

Kazhydromet has issued storm warnings for Astana, Almaty, and 14 other regions in Kazakhstan on Monday, June 10, due to anticipated extreme weather conditions.

Astana: Thunderstorms and hail are expected during the day, with winds shifting from southwest to northwest, reaching speeds of 15-20 m/s.

Almaty: Intense heat is forecasted for June 10-11, with temperatures rising to 35-36°C.

Abaysk Region: Thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are anticipated in the west, north, east, and center, with winds changing from southeast to southwest and gusts up to 23 m/s. The south will experience intense heat of 36°C and a high fire danger.

Akmola Region: Heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected. Winds will shift from southwest to northwest, with gusts reaching 23-28 m/s in some areas.

Aktobe Region: The south will see temperatures up to 35°C, with high fire danger in the west and extreme fire danger in the south.

Atyrau Region: Thunderstorms in the west will be accompanied by northwest to southeast winds, with gusts up to 20 m/s. The region will face intense heat up to 36°C and extreme fire danger.

East Kazakhstan Region: Thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected, with winds shifting from southeast to southwest and gusts up to 23 m/s.

Zhetysu Region: The Alakol lakes area will experience northeast winds up to 20 m/s, while Taldykorgan will face intense heat of 34-36°C and high fire danger.

West Kazakhstan Region: Temperatures will rise to 35°C, with high fire danger in the south and extreme fire danger in the west.

Karaganda Region: Thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected, with winds shifting from southwest to northwest at speeds of 15-20 m/s. High fire danger is predicted in the south and center.

Kostanay Region: Thunderstorms are forecasted in the north, with northwest winds reaching 20 m/s. High fire danger persists in the south.

Kyzylorda Region: Intense heat of 35-40°C is expected, with high fire danger in the west and north, and extreme fire danger in other areas.

Mangistau Region: Thunderstorms in the northwest and intense heat up to 40°C are expected. High fire danger remains in the west and south, with extreme fire danger elsewhere.

Pavlodar Region: Heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected, with winds transitioning from east to southwest at 20 m/s.

North Kazakhstan Region: Heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are forecasted, with southwest to northwest winds reaching 20 m/s.

Ulytau Region: Thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are anticipated, with winds shifting from west to northwest at speeds of 20 m/s. High fire danger is expected across much of the region.
