Extraordinary summit of the Organization of Turkic States will be held today in Ankara
Today Ankara will host an extraordinary summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), organized by President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the topic “Disaster Management and Humanitarian Aid”.
According to the Presidential Communications Department, the summit, held at the proposal of Azerbaijan, will be attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and representatives of observer countries: TRNC President Ersin Tatar , Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Head of the Department for Peoples’ Affairs of the National Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The TRNC, which received observer status at the Samarkand summit held last year, will take part in the OTS summit for the first time.
The summit, held in solidarity with Türkiye in connection with the strong earthquake experienced, will discuss issues related to the development of cooperation in the fight against natural disasters and their consequences, as well as an exchange of views on the common agenda.
Turkish President Erdogan will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts within the framework of the summit.
As known, the Member and Observer States of the Organization of Turkic States have shown great solidarity and extended their helping hand to Türkiye in this difficult period and strengthened the brotherhood ties with the search and rescue teams and humanitarian aid they have provided throughout this time.
