Explosion at a Gas Station in Uzbekistan: One Person Killed

An explosion and subsequent fire at a gas station in the Fergana region have claimed the life of one person.

According to the press service of the regional Emergency Situations Department (ESD), the incident occurred at a gas station on Ahmed Yasawi Street in the city of Fergana.

Four people were injured, and eight are under medical supervision.

The explosion happened at 1:43 PM during the release of liquefied gas. Preliminary reports suggest the cause was a violation of technological procedures and safety regulations.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 1:47 PM, contained the fire by 2:02 PM, and fully extinguished it by 2:12 PM.

Emergency response teams, local government representatives, and heads of relevant ministries and agencies quickly organized efforts to address the aftermath of the fire.
