Exhibition of Azerbaijani Painter Eldeniz Babayev to Commemorate Historic Anniversaries in Istanbul
An exhibition featuring the works of renowned Azerbaijani painter Eldeniz Babayev will be held in Istanbul from June 27th to July 5th, 2024.
The exhibition, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, and the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s birthday, will showcase a collection of up to eighty paintings reflecting various periods of Babayev’s artistic career.
Organized at the Art Gallery of the Atatürk Cultural Centre of Istanbul, the exhibition is a collaborative effort between TURKSOY, the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, the Cultural Centre of Azerbaijan in Türkiye, the Atatürk Centre of Azerbaijan, the International Relations Centre of Azerbaijan (Azerbaijan-Türkiye Community), the Presidency of the Society of Manuscripts of Türkiye, Azerbaijan Airlines, the Painters’ Union of Azerbaijan, the Art Factory, and the Painting Gallery of Baku.
Babayev’s artworks, predominantly comprising portraits, still lifes, depictions of daily life, and historical narratives such as Azerbaijan’s victory in the War of Liberation and the enduring friendship between Azerbaijan and Türkiye known as “one nation, two states,” will be on display. The exhibition aims to introduce the rich cultural heritage, customs, traditions, and daily life of the Azerbaijani people to the audience in Istanbul.
