Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan officially met with Japan's Crown Prince Akishino during his visit to Ankara.

During the meeting, the Turkish president presented a document confirming the award of Ottoman General Pertev Pasha by Emperor Mutsuhito.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including Erdogan’s security and foreign policy adviser Akif Cagatay Kilic and the head of communications in the presidential administration, Fahrettin Altun.

It is worth mentioning that the visit of Crown Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko to Türkiye on December 4, 2024, aligns with the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan.  This official visit is the first for the royal couple, who are in Türkiye to further deepen the bilateral relations, with discussions focusing on mutual cooperation, regional security, and strengthening cultural exchange.
