Erdogan and Zelensky Hold Official Meeting in Türkiye

On February 18, President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held talks in Ankara.

According to Anadolu agency, before the meeting began, Erdoğan welcomed his Ukrainian counterpart at the entrance of the Presidential Complex. The two leaders posed for a commemorative photo in front of the flags of Türkiye and Ukraine before proceeding with their discussions, which were held behind closed doors.

The Turkish delegation included Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, Head of the Presidential Communications Directorate Fahrettin Altun, and Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç.

Following the talks, the heads of state attended an official dinner with their delegations. The meeting also featured a signing ceremony for cooperation agreements between Türkiye and Ukraine.

First, Türkiye’s Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of education. Then, the Turkish Presidential Communications Directorate and Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications signed a memorandum of understanding on media and communication collaboration.

The meeting concluded with a joint press conference by the two presidents.
