On September 20, 2023 at the Kyrgyz National Library named after. A. Osmonov there was a presentation of the book “Manas of Sagymbay”, jointly published by the Turkic Academy and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. Sagımbay Orozbakov’s version of the “Manas” epic is published in prose for the first time under the editorship of Rysbay Iskakov, the epic teller and Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The event was attended by President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Efendiyeva, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Azerbaijan Republic to the Kyrgyz Republic Latif Gandilov, Head of the Department of Policy Development, Monitoring and Analysis of Reforms of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Oktyabr Kapalbaev, First Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Kairat Imanaliev, deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurzhigit Kadyrbekov, academician Abdyldajan Akmataliev, chairman of the Muras Foundation under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, historian Kyyas Moldokasimov, chairman of the National Union of Writers of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlan Kalybekov, as well as state and public figures, poets, epic tellers, writers, historians, students of the department of KSU named after. I. Arabaeva.
During the event, the head of the department of policy development, monitoring and analysis of reforms of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Oktyabr Kapalbaev, read out a congratulation on behalf of the Secretary of State of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmanbetov, and emphasized the great contribution of the book, jointly published by the Turkic Academy and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
The President of the Turkic Academy, Shahin Mustafayev, underlined the significance of the epic “Manas” in the Turkic world, and spoke about the scientific works published by the Acadeöy on this epic. At the end of his speech, he noted that the Academy will continue to contribute to the publication of such important works.
In her turn, the President of the the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Efendiyeva noted that the epic “Manas” is a factor that unites the Turkic world, and today’s event is confirmation of this.
“We, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, strive to unite all fraternal peoples. Another book dedicated to our Foundation’s study of the Manas epic has already been published in Kyrgyz and Azerbaijani. At the same time, the solemn “Manas Day” was held at the headquarters of our organization with the participation of representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic,” Efendieva said in her speech.
First Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Kairat Imanaliev, in his speech, expressed gratitude to the heads of organizations for popularizing the heritage of Manas, and emphasized the importance of such undertakings for strengthening fraternal ties among the Turkic countries.
Also, as part of the event, the President of the Turkic Academy Mustafayev and the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Efendieva were awarded with medallions of the Kyrgyz National Theater “Manas” for contribution to popularize Manas epic.
