Astana is facing challenging weather conditions, including rain and ice, leading to heightened activity in trauma centers, TuraNews.kz reports citing official website of the city’s akimat.
In response to the deteriorating weather, the city’s public health department is advising residents to exercise utmost caution. Wearing comfortable, flat-soled shoes is recommended to prevent accidents, and individuals are urged to seek immediate medical assistance in case of injury.
Residents, particularly children and those of retirement age, are advised not to venture outdoors unless absolutely necessary. Emergency room doctors are collaborating closely with hospital departments to address the increased demand for medical care.
Several city clinics, including No. 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10, have opened emergency departments from 8:00 to 20:00 to cater to urgent medical needs for category 4 children.
Recognizing the strain on the main trauma center at the city children’s hospital, an additional trauma center was inaugurated on November 9 at the multidisciplinary children’s hospital No. 2. This aims to ensure accessible medical care and alleviate the load on the primary trauma center, providing services to children in the Saryarka and Baikonur districts at city clinic No. 2.
To prevent ice accumulation, roads and sidewalks in Astana are being treated with a sand-salt mixture. The city’s public services are operating in an enhanced mode, working around the clock to address the situation.”
