Rybakina dominated the final match with a score of 6-1, 6-4, showcasing her prowess on the court. In just over an hour of play, the Kazakh athlete delivered four aces and capitalized on six out of ten break points. Prior to this encounter, the head-to-head record between the two players stood at a tie of 2-2.
Rybakina’s journey to her seventh title began with her inaugural WTA tour win at the WTA 250 tournament in Bucharest back in 2019. She continued her success in 2020 by triumphing at the WTA 250 tournament in Hobart. In a remarkable achievement in 2022, Elena claimed the Wimbledon championship title. The following year, 2023, proved to be even more fruitful for the Kazakh player as she clinched two WTA 1000 trophies, first at Indian Wells and then at Rome. Kicking off 2024 in style, Rybakina secured the WTA 500 tournament title in Brisbane. With her latest triumph in Abu Dhabi, Rybakina’s tally now stands at an impressive seven WTA titles.
Following her victory today, Elena Rybakina is set to ascend to fourth place in the updated WTA rankings, effective today, February 12th.
