Election silence starts today in Kazakhstan

Today, the election silence is declared in Kazakhstan which bans political campaigning before early presidential election on tomorrow Nov. 20, Kazinform reports.

The election silence allows the voters can use this moment to reflect on their electoral preferences and according to the legislation of Republic of Kazakhstan, all electoral campaigns that kicked off on 21 October 2022, must be stopped the day before the election.

The pre-election campaign started in Kazakhstan on October 21 and lasted till 12 am November 19.

On November 20, the voting for the presidential election will be held at 10,101 ballot stations countrywide and at 68 ballot stations abroad.

11,827,277 citizens of Kazakhstan were included in the Register of Voters as of July 1, 2022.
