Educational Seminar for inDrive Partner Drivers Held in Almaty

An educational seminar organized by inDrive, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was recently held in Almaty for partner drivers. The event focused on enhancing road safety and service quality.

The seminar gathered 160 partner drivers from inDrive, a global platform for transport and city services, including intra-city, inter-city, and trucking services. This initiative is part of a tripartite memorandum aimed at promoting compliance with traffic rules, improving user interaction, and ensuring safety on intercity highways.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, there were 23,000 traffic accidents in 2023, with 50% occurring on highways outside cities. Speeding accounted for 25% of accidents, while 5% were due to vehicles not meeting technical requirements.

The seminar included discussions on strategies to enhance road safety and service quality, conducted through interactive quizzes with a total prize pool of 1,000,000 tenge. Winners received cash prizes, emphasizing key aspects such as maintaining safe distances, adhering to speed limits, and safe maneuvering.

“The memorandum aims to gradually introduce measures to enforce traffic rules, including potential suspensions for repeat speed limit violations and reminders for vehicle maintenance,” stated Abylay Mambetaliev, chief specialist of traffic control inspection in Almaty.

Additionally, inDrive introduced a new cargo insurance option for its inDrive.Trucking service to mitigate risks and claims. Future app updates will enhance user security and trust.

“InDrive prioritizes user safety. This summer, we plan to launch the ‘Top Driver’ feature, identifying drivers with high ratings who complete online safety and service training,” said Boris Hvan, head of inDrive.Intercity service.

Under the memorandum, measures will be implemented to identify and exclude right-hand drive vehicles, ensuring compliance through document verification and photo surveillance, effective January 1, 2025.

Based in Mountain View, California, USA, inDrive operates globally with over 200 million app downloads. Apart from ride-hailing, inDrive offers a wide array of city services across 749 cities in 46 countries, supporting local communities through various initiatives.
