East Kazakhstan Governor Drives Regional Advancement with Courageous Initiatives
The regional akimat of East Kazakhstan recently convened to discuss pressing matters, including preparations for an anticipated second wave of floods by mid-April.
Governor Yermek Kosherbayev highlighted the region’s stable situation, crediting collaborative efforts among various entities. He emphasized proactive flood control measures initiated last autumn, including the creation of a risk map based on historical data to mitigate potential threats. Kosherbayev stressed the paramount importance of ensuring public safety.
This year, designated as the “Year of Roads” in East Kazakhstan, underscores the region’s commitment to road infrastructure. The governor acknowledged public grievances regarding road conditions and announced a doubling of funding for road repairs, allocating 28.5 billion tenge for this purpose. Kosherbayev emphasized the need for high-quality construction and technology utilization, urging close coordination with highway patrols to address deteriorating road sections.
Moreover, Kosherbayev discussed the Auyl Amanaty program aimed at rural development, noting its positive impact in job creation. He emphasized the need for economic growth points and urged officials to explore opportunities for direct sales platforms to boost local entrepreneurship.
Environmental concerns were also addressed, with Kosherbayev highlighting the need to develop a strategy for waste management. He emphasized the importance of public involvement in finding solutions and announced plans to collaborate with community leaders in this endeavor.
Following the meeting, Kosherbayev conducted a video conference with city and district leaders to address flood-related issues and instructed on matters pertaining to health, education, and infrastructure.
