Earthquake Strikes East Kazakhstan Region, Felt by Residents
Residents of the East Kazakhstan region experienced an earthquake on April 24, 2024.
The seismic event, recorded at 11:19 Astana time, was detected by a network of seismic stations. The epicenter of the earthquake was located approximately 760 kilometers southeast of Almaty, Kazakhstan.
With an energy class of 9.9 and a MPV magnitude of 4.4, the earthquake registered a magnitude of 2 in the village of Tasbastau, Zaisan district.
Fortunately, there were no reported casualties or damage, as confirmed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
