Earthquake Recorded in Kyrgyzstan’s Batken Region

An earthquake measuring approximately 4.0 on the Richter scale struck Kyrgyzstan’s Batken region early this morning at 04:53 local time, according to the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The earthquake’s epicenter was located within Kyrgyzstan, 6 km north of Leilek village, 8 km northwest of Ravat, 13 km northeast of Katran, 45 km east of Suluktu, and 65 km southwest of Batken city.

In nearby settlements, the quake’s intensity was estimated as follows: around 3.5 points in the villages of Leilek, Ravat, Kara-Suu, Korgon, and Katran, and about 3.0 points in Berik-Suu and Kyzyl-Charba.

No reports of significant damage or injuries have been released so far. Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
