Earthquake Recorded 320 km Southeast of Almaty

Kazakhstani seismologists recorded an earthquake on the morning of July 9, according to the National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research, TuraNews.kz reports.

The quake struck at 8:29 AM Astana time. The epicenter was located in China, approximately 321 kilometers southeast of Almaty. The recorded magnitude was mb=4.1, with an energy class of K=9.4.

There have been no reports of the tremor being felt within Kazakhstan. A day earlier, on July 8, an earthquake was also recorded in the Zhambyl region, where it was felt in several settlements.
