Earthquake Jolts Bishkek
At 12:22 local time, residents of the Kyrgyz capital felt the tremors of an earthquake.

The Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that the earthquake originated within Kyrgyzstan, approximately 35 km northwest of Cholpon-Ata, 40 km south of Almaty, and 190 km north of Bishkek.
With a magnitude of around 5.3 on the Richter scale and intensity reaching approximately 6 points on the 12-point MSK-64 scale, the quake’s epicenter caused significant vibrations.
