Earthquake Detected on Afghanistan-Tajikistan Border, No Impact Reported in Kazakhstan

On November 30 at 4:10 AM Almaty time, the seismic station network of SOME LLP, under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, recorded an earthquake, TuraNews.kz reports.

The earthquake’s epicenter is situated 767 km southwest of Almaty, precisely on the border between Afghanistan and Tajikistan. The energy class of the earthquake is 10.7, with a magnitude MPV of 4.7. The coordinates of the epicenter are 37.74° N, 71.39° E, and the depth is reported to be 125 km. According to the MSK-64 scale, there is no reported perceptibility of the earthquake on the territory of Kazakhstan, as confirmed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
