Early voting for parliamentary elections begins in Uzbekistan today.

Early voting for Uzbekistan’s parliamentary elections has officially commenced, offering citizens who are unable to vote on the main election day the opportunity to cast their ballots in advance.  The early voting period will continue until October 23.

Polling stations will be open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time (GMT+5) on weekdays, and from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on weekends. Special provisions have also been made for Uzbekistan’s citizens abroad, with polling stations established at diplomatic missions operating during local hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in the respective countries.

The general election, set for October 27, will see the election of members to regional, city, and district councils, as well as deputies to Uzbekistan’s Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (parliament).
