Winners were determined and awarded in each category of theatrical art. By the decision of the jury of the prestigious international competition, Duman Ramazan, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan and writer-playwright, was awarded the title of “Best Playwright of the Turkic World.” The award was presented at the ceremony by Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the International TURKSOY organization, and Nurhan Uslu, Editor-in-Chief of the “Teatr” international publication.
“I have long been familiar with the plays of Duman Ramazan. He is a strong playwright who thoroughly understands the intricacies of drama and deepens the twists and turns of thought. He writes about both historical topics and modern times with thorough research and knowledge. His historical canvases, created on the national stage in recent years, are in line with the heights of today’s theater. In his historical dramas such as “Kerey – Zhanibek,” “The Dream of Ablai Khan,” “Zhoshy Khan” and others, he flawlessly depicted the historical view of national values and traditions. The historical drama “Zhoshy Khan,” staged on the Kalecki stage, heralds the beginning of a new era in Kazakh culture,” said Sultan Raev.
