Discussions Held on Reinstating Air Travel Links between Kazakhstan and Japan

High-level talks were conducted to address the issue of reinstating air traffic connections between Kazakhstan and Japan.

A meeting convened between Saltanat Tompieva, Chairperson of the Civil Aviation Committee within the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Yamada Jun, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kazakhstan.

Tompieva disclosed that Kazakh airlines are contemplating the commencement of direct flights between the two nations during the first half of 2025. In response, Mr. Yamada expressed readiness to extend comprehensive assistance in facilitating this initiative.

Both parties concluded the meeting with an agreement to persist in collaborative efforts aimed at reinstating air travel connections. Such endeavors are envisaged to foster enhanced economic, business, and cultural exchanges between Kazakhstan and Japan.
