Death Toll in Gaza Nears 51,000
The death toll from Israeli attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip has reached 50,944, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
The ministry reported that in the past 24 hours, hospitals received the bodies of 11 deceased and 111 wounded. Since October 7, 2023, the total number of injured has climbed to 116,156. Thousands of bodies are still believed to be trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings, the ministry added.
After the ceasefire agreement ended on January 19, the Israeli army resumed heavy assaults on Gaza on the morning of March 18. Since then, 1,574 people have been killed and 4,115 injured.
