Deadly Shootout Claims Lives of Five in Baku
A tragic shootout in Baku has resulted in the deaths of three Azerbaijani police officers and a civilian, alongside the shooter himself.
According to reports from Radio Liberty, the incident occurred during an attempt to apprehend a wanted individual in the village of Shuvelan, Khazar district.
The shooter, identified as Rovshan Allahverdiyev, a previously convicted Azerbaijani citizen, allegedly opened fire when authorities attempted to arrest him, using his family members as shields. The exchange of gunfire led to the deaths of three policemen and one civilian. Allahverdiyev was also killed during the confrontation.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan have confirmed these details, while the identities of the deceased police officers have been disclosed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Further specifics regarding the incident are currently under investigation and have not yet been disclosed.
