Dastan Ryspekov Appointed as New Akim of Ulytau Region

The President of Kazakhstan has appointed Dastan Adayevich Ryspekov as the new akim (regional governor) of the Ulytau region, according to a presidential decree.

Born in 1984 in the Karaganda region, Ryspekov holds degrees from Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi and the Almaty Law Academy of KazGUU.

Ryspekov began his professional career in 2006 as a chief specialist in the Department of Economics and Budget Planning in Almaty. Over the years, he held various senior roles, including positions in the Audit Commission for Almaty and the Accounts Committee overseeing the national budget.

From 2016 to 2018, Ryspekov served as Director of Accounting and Reporting at Astana EXPO-2017, followed by a role as Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Tourism in the Pavlodar region.

In 2020, he was appointed Chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee under the Ministry of Culture and Sports, a position he held until 2023. Prior to his new appointment, he served as Deputy Akim of the Ulytau region.

Ryspekov’s extensive experience in economic planning and tourism development is expected to contribute to the growth and development of the Ulytau region.
