CSTO Collective Security Council Meeting Opens in Bishkek

The CSTO Collective Security Council convened its session in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, the Akorda press service reported.

According to the organization’s communications office, member states plan to adopt a Declaration outlining their unified stance on current regional security challenges. The session will also review the candidate for CSTO Secretary-General for the 2026–2029 term. Russia is expected to present its priorities for chairing the organization in 2026.

The Kyrgyz Interior Ministry announced temporary traffic restrictions on several roads in Bishkek and the Chui Region due to the CSTO events. To ease congestion, schools and universities in the capital have shifted to online learning for the duration of the session.
