Colorful Kazakh lakes stunned American astronauts

NASA shared photos of the pink and green lakes that caught the attention of astronauts during the passage of the International Space Station (ISS) over the territory of Kazakhstan.

The reason why the lakes take on these colors is the reaction between the salt in the evaporated water and the microorganism in the of Zhalnak and Aralsor lakes. As a Result the lakes are being dyed in beatiful colors such as red, pink, pink, blue green
The intriguing photo was photographed by a member of the ISS Crew Earth Observation Facility and Earth Science and Remote Sensing Unit, Johnson Space Center, Expedition 67 crew on June 15, 2022.
