Christmas Trees Across Central Asian Capitals

In a festive display of holiday cheer, the central squares of Central Asian capitals are now adorned with magnificent Christmas trees, each with its unique charm, TuraNews.kz reports.

Astana, Kazakhstan: The grand Christmas tree of Kazakhstan, standing proudly at 25 meters, lit up on December 17 at the International Exhibition Center EXPO in Astana. The event unfolded with a lively concert, a New Year’s fair, slides, an ice skating rink, a labyrinth, a food court, and themed photo zones, attracting around five thousand participants.

Ashgabat, Turkmenistan: On December 15, Turkmenistan’s capital witnessed the enchanting lighting ceremony of a colossal 44-meter Christmas tree at the Alem cultural and entertainment center square. Crafted from natural fir branches from Siberia, adorned with 4 thousand toys and 55 thousand LED light bulbs, the tree features an octagonal star at the top displaying the inscription “2024” and monitors showcasing swimming fish, symbolizing the upcoming year according to the Turkmen national calendar.

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan: In Bishkek, the lights of the country’s main New Year tree brightened Ala-Too Square on December 15. Towering at 32 meters with a diameter of 12 meters, the tree was encircled in festive LED garlands, while guests enjoyed a concert featuring performances by Russian pop singers.

Dushanbe, Tajikistan: Independence Square in Dushanbe is now graced by the main New Year’s attribute, standing tall at 30 meters with a diameter of 16 meters. Anticipating the New Year’s Eve celebration, a festive concert and fireworks will add to the joyous atmosphere.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan: Traditionally adorning the National Library of Uzbekistan, the main Christmas tree in Tashkent reaches a majestic height of 35 meters. Festive events are scheduled at this iconic location from December 28 to January 8, running daily from 11:00 to 23:00. The city is set to come alive with holiday spirit during these lively celebrations.
