Chinese Authorities Make Mobile Payments Easier for Foreigners
The People's Bank of China, also known as the Central Bank, released a guide on Monday aimed at simplifying mobile payments for foreigners, according to reports from the Xinhua news agency.
As per the guide, the digital yuan e-wallet is now accessible for registration using mobile phone numbers from over 210 countries and regions worldwide.
Moreover, in a bid to enhance payment convenience for foreign visitors in China, the Alipay app has expanded its service languages to 16.
Earlier this month, it was announced that foreign users can now link their international credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard, to the Alipay and WeChat Pay platforms, the two primary payment applications in China.
