China Vows Strong Response If U.S. Raises Tariffs
China will take strong countermeasures to defend its rights if the U.S. proceeds with raising tariffs, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China stated on Tuesday.

This comes after the U.S. threatened to impose an additional 50% tariff on Chinese imports. A ministry spokesperson warned that “if the U.S. insists on taking the wrong path, China will fight to the end.”
Beijing called the U.S. tariffs unjustified and a form of “unilateral bullying,” and stressed that its own actions aim to protect national sovereignty and global trade order.
Last week, China announced a 34% tariff on all U.S. goods effective from April 10, in retaliation to Washington’s escalating tariff strategy under former President Donald Trump’s “America First” agenda.
