China lifts quarantine rules on the border with Kazakhstan

Starting from January 2023, the Chinese side has removed the previously introduced restrictives and quarantine measures on the Kazakh-Chinese section of the state border, reports the press service of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The PRC officials intend to admit vehicles with a return to the pre-pandemic format of transportation. At the same time, drivers are required to obtain visas, PCR tests, and ensure compliance of their vehicles with international standards.

After the removal of restrictions on the border, the requirements for the characteristics of vehicles that were previously established by the Chinese side led to the dissatisfaction of a number of participants in foreign economic activity, who, during the period of strict requirements for vehicles, incurred certain expenses for the conversion of vehicles.

On January 9, 2023, in order to ensure coordination of the work of interested parties, the leadership of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the Kalzhat checkpoint on the border.

During the workshop, together with the border service, local executive bodies and carriers, the necessary clarifications were given on the procedure for passing through customs procedures, as well as crossing the state border.

During the working meeting, local executive bodies, carriers and the border service shared the necessary explanations on the customs procedures, as well as crossing the state border.
