China Issues Orange Level Cold Weather Warning and Blue Level Strong Wind Warning

The National Meteorological Center (NMC) of the People's Republic of China has heightened its alert to orange level due to cold temperatures impacting various regions of the country.

According to the NMC’s forecast, a cold front is anticipated to sweep across most parts of China starting Sunday evening, leading to temperature drops of more than 20 degrees Celsius in certain areas.

The central and eastern regions of China are expected to experience a significant decrease in air temperature until February 22, with average daily temperatures plummeting by 8-12 degrees Celsius. Additionally, parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, northern and northeastern China, and select areas in the southern region may witness temperature drops ranging from 12-18 degrees Celsius. Northeast China and the provinces of Hubei, Hunan, and Guizhou are forecasted to face even more drastic temperature reductions, with drops of up to 20 degrees Celsius.

In response to the adverse weather conditions, the NMC has advised local authorities and workers in sectors such as agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock to take necessary precautions to mitigate potential damage.
