Çalık Holding Explores Investment Opportunities in Kazakhstan

Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Aidarbek Saparov, met with Ahmet Çalık, Chairman of the Board of Türkiye’s Çalık Holding, to discuss investment prospects in Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector, BasAgro.kz reports.

During the meeting, Çalık Holding expressed interest in launching several agricultural processing projects, with a particular focus on lentil and sugar beet processing. Minister Saparov highlighted that sugar beet processing remains a key priority for Kazakhstan’s agricultural development.

In 2024, thanks to timely government support measures and favorable weather conditions, Kazakhstan recorded a historic sugar beet harvest of 1.3 million tons, with a yield exceeding 510 quintals per hectare. To further support the sector, the Kazakh government has introduced a Comprehensive Plan for the Development of the Sugar Industry, which includes incentives for investors, such as cost reimbursement for building and expanding sugar factories and purchasing agricultural machinery.

“The Ministry of Agriculture is ready to provide all necessary conditions and comprehensive support for the successful implementation of investment projects within its competence,” said Minister Saparov.

Ahmet Çalık emphasized that Çalık Holding is actively exploring the Kazakh market and evaluating various regions for investment, including advanced agricultural processing projects. He expressed confidence in Kazakhstan’s potential as a strategic partner for long-term agricultural investments.
