Bomb Threat at Bishkek Airport Declared False

In Bishkek, the reported bomb threat at Manas International Airport has been confirmed as false, and the terminal is back to normal operations.

The Shu district police department received the bomb threat message at 1:50 PM on May 22, 2024, indicating an explosion would occur at 3:00 PM. The incident was registered, and a pre-investigation check was initiated.

An investigative team from the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region, the Department of Internal Affairs of the Sokuluk district, and the Special Security Service quickly responded. The airport was cordoned off, and employees and passengers were evacuated.

Police officers and State Committee for National Security personnel conducted thorough investigative and operational measures. A group of sappers inspected the area, but no explosive device was found.

No flight arrivals or departures were delayed. The cordon has been lifted, and the airport is functioning normally.
