Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, will host the 2nd meeting of ministers of the member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) responsible for managing natural disasters and emergency situations, Turanews.kz reports.
The event, which is organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, will be held from September 6 to 8, 2023.
The meeting is expected to be attended by the highest representatives of the competent state bodies for combating emergency situations from the OTG member and observer countries.
The meeting will discuss a wide range of issues related to disaster management, including prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. It will also provide an opportunity for the ministers to share experiences and best practices.
In addition to the meeting, the event will also include international exercises called “Baku-2023”. These exercises will be attended by the rescue services of the relevant departments of the OTG member states for emergency management.
The exercises are designed to test the readiness of the participating countries to respond to natural disasters and other emergencies. They will also help to improve coordination and cooperation between the countries.
