In connection with this situation, the crew decided to land the plane at a backup airfield in the Icelandic city of Keflavik. After a safe landing, local doctors boarded the plane and provided the necessary medical assistance.
“The mother and newborn were taken to a local clinic,” the airline said in the statement.
