Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Haytham al-Ghais, in Baku on June 15, 2023. The meeting was held at the Presidential Palace, Turanews.kz reports.
As part of his visit, al-Ghais visited the Alley of Honor in Baku, where he paid tribute to the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev. He then laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame memorial.
In early June, Azerbaijan supported the OPEC+ decision on a new level of crude oil production. The decision on the new level of daily total crude oil production for 2024 was taken at the 35th Ministerial Meeting of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and non-OPEC countries held in Vienna.
The daily production of crude oil next year in the OPEC+ countries is set at 40.46 million barrels, and for Azerbaijan at the level of 551,000 barrels.
