Azerbaijani Gas Supplies to Türkiye to be Paused for Maintenance in August

Azerbaijani gas supplies to Türkiye will be halted temporarily in August due to maintenance work on the export gas pipeline, according to a report by the Turkish state gas company BOTAS.

The maintenance will affect the Shah Deniz gas pipeline system, which exports gas from the Shah Deniz field. As a result, the supply of natural gas to Türkiye’s national gas distribution network will be disrupted. Specifically, deliveries from the Türkgezü entry point will be paused for five days, from July 31 to August 5, and from the TANAP Seyitgazi entry point for four days, from August 5 to 9.

Despite these interruptions, BOTAS assures that measures are in place to maintain a balance of supply and demand in the national gas distribution network during this period.

Azerbaijani gas supplied to Türkiye comes from the Shah Deniz field, developed in two stages: Stage 1 and Stage 2.
