Azerbaijan Ships 36 Tons of Eggs to Russia

In accordance with the recently established agreement between Azerbaijan and Russia, the Republic of Azerbaijan has commenced the export of eggs to the Russian Federation. On December 19, the initial shipment, totaling 36 tons (equivalent to 612 thousand eggs), was dispatched from Azerbaijan through the Yarag-Gazmalar checkpoint to Russia.

This development was disclosed by the Food Security Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as reported by Trend.az.

The decision to supply eggs from Azerbaijan to the Russian market was formalized in November of this year, following discussions between Goshgar Takhmazli, Chairman of the Food Security Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Sergey Dankvert, the head of Rosselkhoznadzor, during Dankvert’s visit to Azerbaijan.

The agreement between APBA and Rosselkhoznadzor highlights the export of poultry products, with a focus on eggs, from Azerbaijan to Russia. This accord is underscored by the acknowledgment that Azerbaijan’s food safety control system in industrial poultry farming aligns with international standards.

Notably, in response to escalating egg prices in the Russian Federation, Turkish companies have also initiated the export of chicken eggs to Russia. Rosselkhoznadzor has granted approval for the supply of eggs to 21 enterprises from Türkiye.
