Azerbaijan Ministry of Labor Collaborates with SESRIC for Joint Training Initiatives

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, in collaboration with the Statistical, Economic, and Social Research and Training Center for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), has announced plans to conduct joint training courses, seminars, and study tours, TuraNews.kz reports citing the Kazinform agency.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Sahil Babayev, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Zahra Zyumrut Selchuk, the Director of SESRIC, held as part of the V Conference of the Ministers of Labor of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states in Baku.

During the meeting, both parties emphasized the significance of fostering cooperation between the Labor Center at SESRIC and the National Observatory on the Labor Market and Social Protection under the ministry. Selchuk highlighted the ongoing efforts to progressively enhance relations between the two institutions.

A memorandum of understanding was signed by Sahil Babayev and Zahra Selchuk at the meeting, outlining the future directions of collaboration between the ministry and SESRIC. The memorandum states that the two entities will jointly organize and coordinate various activities, including special training courses, seminars, meetings, and study tours. Additionally, they will exchange knowledge and experiences to prepare joint publications, reports, and research.

The primary aim of these initiatives is to bolster the institutional and human resources capacity of the Ministry of Labor. SESRIC, established as a subsidiary body of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, focuses on statistical, economic, and social research and training for Islamic countries. The collaboration between the ministry and SESRIC is expected to contribute to the mutual benefit of both entities.
