Azerbaijan Extends COVID-19 Quarantine Measures

Azerbaijan’s Cabinet of Ministers has announced the extension of the special quarantine regime aimed at curbing the spread of COVID-19 within the country.

According to AZERTAC, as cited by Kazinform, the decision was formalized through a resolution signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov. The measure is based on Article 25 of Azerbaijan’s Law on Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and the regulations approved on February 28, 2020, regarding the implementation of quarantine and preventive measures in response to infectious disease threats.

The extended quarantine will remain in effect until 6:00 AM on April 1, 2025. This decision underscores Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts to mitigate the risks posed by the coronavirus and its potential repercussions.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Health, Akmaral Alnazarova, recently addressed concerns about a potential resurgence of COVID-19. Speaking to reporters at the Parliament, she stated that no significant deterioration in the pandemic situation is anticipated in Kazakhstan.

As of October 1, 2024, a total of 1,676 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year.
