Azerbaijan declared 2023 as Year of Heydar Aliyev

In Azerbaijan, 2023 has been declared as the “Year of Heydar Aliyev”, The President of the country Ilham Aliyev signed the official order.

May 10, 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of independent Azerbaijan, an outstanding political and statesman Heydar Aliyev.

“The legacy of the great leader of independent Azerbaijan is the national treasure of our people. Its preservation is the honorable duty of every Azerbaijani,” the document says.

According to the order, the Presidential Administration was instructed to prepare and submit proposals to the head of state regarding the action plan related to the holding of the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in Azerbaijan within two months.
