Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, is currently experiencing substantial snowfall, TuraNews.kz reports citing Trend.az.
The initial wet snowfall observed yesterday has now transitioned into a steady and accumulating layer of snow. The National Hydrometeorology Service had previously indicated that from January 13 onwards, Baku and the Absheron Peninsula would witness intermittent precipitation, with a daytime shift from sleet to snow.
As the snowfall continues, there is a growing concern of icy road conditions in Baku and certain areas of the Absheron Peninsula, particularly during the night and morning hours of January 15. Residents and commuters are advised to exercise caution and take necessary precautions given the potential for icy surfaces on roads.
