The fifth meeting of the intergovernmental commission between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan was held in Bishkek on July 24, 2023. The meeting was attended by representatives from both countries, including ministers, deputy ministers, and other officials, Turanews.kz reports.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the prospects for cooperation in a variety of fields, including construction, education, communications, defense, production, and transport. They also discussed the upcoming meeting of business delegations from both countries, which is scheduled for July 26 on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan said that economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan is becoming more and more noticeable, and that both countries are actively working to find new opportunities for the development of mutually beneficial projects. The Chamber also noted that Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan are actively involved in various international and regional initiatives aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and creating favorable conditions for business.
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, the trade turnover between the countries from January to June 2023 amounted to $17.038 million, which is four times more than the same period in 2022 ($4.228 million).
The two sides expressed satisfaction with the progress made in bilateral relations and agreed to continue their efforts to further strengthen cooperation in all areas.
