According to a statement from the Office of National Statistics, Astana leads in terms of population growth in Kazakhstan.
As of December 1, 2023, the population of Kazakhstan reached 20,014,575 people, with 12,431,220 residing in urban areas and 7,583,355 in rural areas.
The statement highlights that since the beginning of 2023, the population has increased by 247,768 people, attributed to natural growth (239,422 people) and migration (8,346 people).
Cities with the highest rates of population growth include Astana, leading with a growth rate of 5.11%, followed by Almaty with 2.82%, and the Mangistau region with 2.40%.
