Astana International Forum Kicks Off

Today, the Astana International Forum has commenced in the capital city of Kazakhstan, Turanews.kz reports.

The forum’s main theme is “Overcoming challenges through dialogue: towards cooperation, development, and progress.” Prominent experts from around the world have gathered to seek solutions to global issues of today.

Attending the forum are heads of states and governments, representatives of international organizations and major companies, political figures, and expert groups.

Over 300 foreign delegates are participating, including representatives from the IMF, WTO, ADB, EBRD, OSCE, UNESCO, SCO, OSCE PA, OECD, US trade mission, and members of the Foreign Investors Council. The focus is on two days of interstate cooperation and the formation of a new global partnership, exploring different models.

Among the distinguished guests present at the Astana International Forum are Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar; Sadyr Japarov, President of Kyrgyzstan; Zelka Cvijanovic, Chairman of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization; Audrey Azoulay, Director-General for Education, Science, and Culture of the United Nations (UNESCO); Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, and many others.

The forum will last for two days, during which participants will explore new approaches to addressing challenges in four main areas: foreign policy and international security, international development and stability, energy and climate change, and economics and finance.

The agenda includes over 40 panel sessions, informal discussions, and other extracurricular activities organized within the framework of the forum.
