On September 28, 2023, Astana hosted a meeting of analytical centers of the Ogranizaton of Turkic States (OTS) member states and observers on the topic “Cooperation of the Turkic States – the Golden Bridge in the Turbulent World”, TuraNews.kz reports.
The event was held by the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliyev and Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erkin Tessov opened the event with a welcoming speech.
The meeting discussed the following topics:
- The role and place of the Turkic world in the international arena
- The goals and objectives of the Turkic Council
- The prospects of the Turkic world
- Cooperation between the Turkic states in the economic, security, and humanitarian spheres
The speakers noted that the Turkic Council is a strategically important organization that plays a significant role in promoting cooperation between the Turkic states. They emphasized the need to further deepen cooperation in all areas, including trade, investment, transport, and culture.
The meeting also discussed the challenges facing the Turkic world, such as the crisis of trust, regional instability, and economic challenges. The speakers called for strengthening solidarity and cooperation to address these challenges.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of a joint communiqué that outlines the key areas of cooperation between the Turkic states in the coming years.
