In a significant development, Astana has been officially designated as the Financial Center of the Turkic World. This announcement was made by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during the 10th summit of the Organization of Turkic States, TuraNews.kz reports.
The presidential press service disclosed that the proposal to confer the Financial Center status was met with unanimous support from the heads of state within the Organization of Turkic States, highlighting the importance of this decision in promoting financial cooperation among member nations.
Central to this initiative is the role of the Turkic Investment Fund, which assumes a critical position in strengthening economic bonds within the organization. Furthermore, to further advance economic collaboration, there is a recognized need to develop the green finance market. Kazakhstan, in particular, has championed the creation of a Council of Turkic “green” finance. Substantial efforts have been invested in translating this vision into reality, and a corresponding document is set to be signed during the summit.
President Tokayev expressed his deep appreciation for the unanimous endorsement of Astana’s new status as the Financial Center of the Turkic World, emphasizing the value of this recognition as a key step toward advancing financial cooperation and solidarity among Turkic nations.
