Assassination Attempts on Kyrgyz President and Security Chief Foiled
Two assassination attempts on Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov have been foiled, while Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev revealed that he himself was targeted in 5-6 separate assassination plots.
According to Kabar news agency, Tashiev disclosed that one of the planned attacks involved an attempt to detonate explosives on a road he was scheduled to travel on. He also shared that the State Committee had received a threatening letter aimed at both him and his family, which he believed to be signed by foreign intelligence agencies and certain oligarchs.
In response, Tashiev addressed the threats, stating, “I didn’t accept the millions you offered. You were upset that the criminal world and oligarchs would have no place in our country. If you harm me, it will all come back to you. Perhaps you can harm me, but as long as I live, I will continue the path I have chosen.”
